How to Set Up Tap to Pay for Lotto ​

Tap to Pay allows your club to accept contactless payments for Lotto entries directly on a mobile device — no card machine required.

This is ideal for:

  • 🎟️ Selling Lotto tickets in person
  • ⚽ Match days and events
  • 🎉 Fundraising activities

This guide will walk you through how to:

  • Set up Tap to Pay for Lotto
  • Create authorised payment users
  • Take Lotto payments using a mobile device

💡 What is Tap to Pay? ​

Tap to Pay enables your club to accept contactless card and mobile payments using a smartphone.

All payments are processed securely through Stripe Tap to Pay, removing the need for:

  • Card machines
  • Cash handling
  • External payment hardware

🧭 Getting Started ​

To begin setting up Tap to Pay for Lotto:

  1. Log in to your Club Admin Dashboard
  2. Navigate to Manage → Lotto
  3. Open User Manager

💡 Tip
Ensure your Stripe account is connected before setting up Tap to Pay.

👥 User Manager Overview ​

The User Manager allows you to control who can take payments.

From here, you can:

  • Add new payment users
  • Assign Tap to Pay or SumUp access
  • Manage existing users

➕ Create a Tap to Pay User ​

To allow someone to take Lotto payments:

  1. Click Create Club Role User
  2. Select:
    • Stripe Tap to Pay
  3. Enter:
    • Name
    • Email address
  4. Click Create Club User

Once created, the user will appear in the User Manager list.

📱 Taking Lotto Payments (User View) ​

Once set up, authorised users can take Lotto payments directly from their mobile device.

Step 1: Open the App ​

  • Log in to the Klubfunder mobile app
  • Navigate to the Dashboard
  • Select Contactless option

Step 2: Select Lotto ​

  • Tap the Lotto button

Step 3: Select Lotto ​

  • Choose the Lotto option

Step 4: Choose Ticket Type ​

  • Select the Lotto offer or ticket option
  • Choose:
    • Custom numbers
    • Or Lucky Dip

Step 5: Checkout ​

  • Click Checkout

You will then be prompted to choose:

  • One-time purchase
  • Or Auto-renew subscription

Step 6: Enter Customer Details ​

Enter the customer’s details:

  • First Name & Last Name
    (Displayed on Lotto entries)

  • Phone Number (required)

  • Email Address (optional)

⚠️ If the customer does not provide a phone number, the user can enter their own.

Step 7: Confirm Purchase ​

  • Review ticket details and total amount
  • Click Confirm Purchase

Step 8: Take Payment ​

  • Tap Pay Now
  • The Tap to Pay screen will appear

The customer can:

  • Tap their contactless card
  • Or use a mobile wallet

📩 Receipts are issued automatically (where applicable)

⚠️ Troubleshooting & Tips ​

If Tap to Pay is not working:

  • 📶 Ensure NFC is enabled on the device
  • 👤 Confirm user is active in User Manager
  • 🔗 Check Stripe or SumUp connection
  • 📲 Update the mobile app
